Analysis of biomass utilization techniques in Latin America
Main Article Content
Abstract
Latin America has biomass resources to combat climate change and generate clean energy from agricultural and urban waste. The objective is to analyze the exploitation and use of biomass in Latin America, through research compiled from the University of Guayaquil. Projects are identified in several countries, highlighting Argentina with 60-80 biogas plants, Brazil using sugar cane, and Colombia with 17% forest waste. Other countries such as Ecuador, Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru and Uruguay are also advancing in this area. Despite legal and technological challenges, there is a growing commitment to biomass in the region.
