Resumen

This paper analyzes the leadership and empowerment of university women highlighting their relevance in social, economic, and political development. It examines factors that influence female leadership in the academic field, such as higher education, systematic barriers and cultural limitations faced by women. Through this field study of 150 university women, it identifies barriers such as discrimination and the lack of equality policies, as well as the importance of mentoring and support in leadership development. The results underscore the need for policies and programs that foster female leadership and promote inclusive environments in higher education. It also reviews social roles theories and expectation states which explain gender discrepancies in evaluations and the impact of self-esteem on professional success. This study seeks to offer recommendations to strengthen their presentation at all academic levels.
