Abstract

The implementation of telematic hearings in judicial processes represents a valuable resource for their speed and completion, but it has affected some procedural guarantees; therefore, through this descriptive and qualitative legal-normative research, the legislative, jurisprudential and doctrinal instruments related to the object of study will be reviewed, and the legal and procedural effects of such implementation in the Ecuadorian Judicial System will be analyzed. To that end, the documentary analysis technique was used, which made it possible to conclude that such hearings yielded optimal results for the judicial stagnation resulting from the isolation of COVID-19, but their long-term validity represents considerable limitations to the procedural guarantees, whose protection must be preeminent in case of conflict.
